All safety and security precautions will be taken, including the presence of guards during the night as well as a vehicle to be used in case of emergency. Moreover, the park itself is entirely fenced, with permanent security staff and private residences of the park administration. Our camp will be situated right in front of the offices.
Keeping in mind the ‘environmental’ spirit of the camp, we shall not allow the students to bring any electronic device, including mobile phones and cd/mp3 players (only cameras will be allowed).
During this trip, M. Karim Hunzai, the camp coordinator, will be in charge of the students, along with another instructor, Mr. Farooq Ahmad. During the camp, you may contact him at the following number: 0344-9114794.
Kindly return the permission slip duly completed and signed, as well as the participation fee (Rs.120) for the meals (dinner, breakfast and tea break).

Students will be off from 25 to 27 February in order to prepare for the examination.
All students are required to appear for all subjects in the send-ups examination. Failure to do so could result in their names being withdrawn from the list of regular candidates for the CIE GCE examinations.
Students will also be required to attend school for one working week after the end of the send-ups to enable the teachers to discuss the results.
Prep leave for the O’level examination will commence from Saturday 27 th March, 2008. However all subject teachers will be available on campus according to a time-table given to the students after their send-ups. You are requested to encourage your son to benefit from the teachers’ guidance.
Best wishes to all the students!

As stipulated in all the previous notices regarding sports, we were preparing a new sports kit for our branch and, for that reason, we did not request you to purchase any particular sports kit in the beginning of this academic year.
The new sports kit is now available at ‘STAPLES’. We advise you to purchase it at the earliest, in order to avoid last minute harassment, as experienced by the parents who waited till the last day to get the new blazer.
We have made the new sports kit much more suitable for the climate, as well as our sports programme. It is light and may be worn under the school uniform without discomfort. In this way, students will be able to change into their sports kit in a very short time.
As soon as the weather is warmer, by mid-February, wearing of the new sports kit will be compulsory for all students from classes 1 to 8 during their athletics, gymnastics and karate periods, as well as all sports day rehearsals, which will start after 18 th of February. Moreover, all members of the football teams will also have to wear this kit for the afternoon practice.
All sizes are now available. In case you try to get your son’s kit at the last minute, we wish to remind you that then you may have to place an order and your son might be penalized, if he is not following the proper dress code.

Dear Parents,
This is to inform you that the new LGS navy blue blazer is now available at ‘STAPLES’. Since it is probably not available in other uniform stores, by getting it from ‘STAPLES’, you will get the assurance that you are given the right one, i.e. real navy blue colour (darker than the previous one) as well as the proper LGS badge directly embroidered on the pocket and not stitched as a separate patch. In case you select another supplier (which is your right) for your son’s blazer, but this one does not correspond to the approved colour and design, you will have to exchange it or get it refunded by your supplier, and your son will be penalized for wearing wrong uniform.
The full winter uniform, with blazer and tie, will be compulsory from Monday 3 rd December, 2007. The sweater remains optional throughout the year.
Please note that the class 11 students are still allowed to wear the previous blazer, since their uniform will change if they join our A’level programme next year.

5- LGS awarded affiliated membership of the Cambridge International Primary Programme by University of cambridge International Examinations (CIE).
We are pleased to inform you that the Johar Town branch of Lahore Grammar School (Cambridge Registered Centre PK814) has been awarded affiliated membership of the Cambridge International Primary Programme by University of Cambridge International Examinations (CIE).
Now, all students of Lahore Grammar School (Johar Town Branches only) are being assessed throughout, from class 1 up to A’levels, by the University of Cambridge. Besides being a regular O and A level Centre and delivering to our class 8 students individual Cambridge Checkpoint Reports in English, Mathematics and Science, our class 5 students will also be assessed externally and will receive the ‘Cambridge International Primary Programme Certificate’ after their final examination. Since our teachers have been trained accordingly and are following the Primary Curriculum Framework for the last three years, we are confident that all students who have been regularly promoted on our campus will clear this examination without any specific preparation.
In case you require more information, do not hesitate to visit the University of Cambridge website at www.cie.org.uk and click on ‘Primary Programme’ (CIE Qualifications).
Please note that, presently, our Johar Town branch is the only school in Pakistan offering this complete programme for all students.

Dear Parents,Your son has been issued his school ID Card to be used at home time by the person in charge of picking him up.
If you want your son to leave the school premises after presentation of this ID card by the person who picks him up, make sure that you follow the rules and do not forget or lose this card.
In case you wish your son to leave the school premises without any specific checking, you may opt for a permanent gate pass. This gate pass may be issued by returning the slip attached duly signed by the parent who signed the form on the day of the admission of your son to LGS.
Please note that, without a gate pass, your son will not be allowed to leave the school premises without the presentation of the ID card by the parent, guardian, driver, etc… coming to pick him up.
In case of no presentation of the ID card, you will have several options:
- Go home and come back with the card.
- Wait until 2 p.m. (3 p.m. after Ramzan and 12:30 p.m. on Friday) and get a gate pass issued by the school office (valid for one day only).
- Request for a permanent gate pass.
Students who are issued a permanent gate pass will leave the school premises on their own by the ‘corner gate’ situated near the parking area. The other students will wait in the designated areas, supervised by our teachers, and will be called one by one after presentation of the ID cards.
Since we do not consider in our school anyone as a ‘VIP’, no exception will be made regarding the rules.

9- Names tags on students shirts.
9 th October, 2007
Dear Parents ,
In order to improve the discipline and be able to identify each student during breaks and home time, we have decided to introduce permanent name tags, instead of the plastic clips which were in use last year and that the students were frequently loosing or removing.
The school has now ordered four sets of name tags (transfers) for each pupil, two for the summer shirts, and two for the shirts to be worn in winter.
The students will receive four tags altogether. In case of loss, they will have to order new ones at the cost of Rs.100 per pair of tags.
Please apply these name tags on the shirts at the earliest.
The procedure :
Heat the iron to the maximum.
Place the transfer on the pocket and press it down with the hot iron.
Leave to cool.
Do not attempt to remove plastic backing: this will automatically wash off.
The picture below shows where to stick it on the pocket:

CAUTION: This transfer is not removable; therefore you should be extremely cautious while applying it on the pocket. In case of any mistake, you would have to change the full pocket or buy a new shirt, and purchase new tags from the school.
